Insurance & Reimbursement Information at My Cognitive Connection
At My Cognitive Connection, we understand that navigating insurance coverage can be challenging, especially when it comes to specialized services like ADHD coaching. Although we are an out-of-network provider & do not accept insurance, we are dedicated to helping you maximize your benefits and access the support you need. Our goal is to make ADHD coaching as accessible as possible, and we provide all the necessary documentation, including superbills, to help you receive potential reimbursement for our services through your insurance plan.
Below, we’ve outlined important information regarding our insurance policies, how reimbursement works, and what steps you can take to submit a claim.
Out-of-Network Provider
As an out-of-network provider, My Cognitive Connection does not directly bill insurance companies for our ADHD coaching services. This means we are not part of any insurance company's network, so you won’t be able to use your insurance to pay for services directly. However, many clients can still receive reimbursement for their coaching sessions if their insurance plans provide coverage for out-of-network mental health services, including ADHD coaching.
While we do not accept insurance payments directly, we make the process of reimbursement as easy as possible by offering the following:
-
Superbills for Reimbursement: After each session, we will provide you with a superbill, which is a detailed invoice containing all the necessary information to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. The superbill will include the key details.
You can then submit this superbill to your insurance provider for reimbursement. It is important to check with your insurance company to understand how they handle reimbursement for out-of-network services.
Out-of-Network Benefits: What Does It Mean for You?
Even though we are out of network, many insurance providers offer out-of-network benefits that can help cover the cost of ADHD coaching. Here’s how it works:
-
Reimbursement Process: If your insurance plan covers out-of-network providers, you can submit the superbill to your insurance company after each session. The insurance company will then assess the claim and determine how much they will reimburse based on your plan’s coverage, the diagnosis, and the type of service rendered.
-
Possible Reimbursement: The reimbursement rate can vary depending on your insurance provider and plan. It may cover a percentage of the cost or a fixed dollar amount. In many cases, you will be reimbursed for part of the session cost, reducing your out-of-pocket expenses.
-
Deductibles & Co-Pays: If your insurance plan has a deductible, you may be required to meet that amount before reimbursement kicks in. Additionally, some plans may only reimburse for a certain portion of the cost or may apply a co-pay. It is important to check with your insurance provider about any specific terms or restrictions.
-
Pre-Authorization: While pre-authorization is typically not required for ADHD coaching, it’s always a good idea to contact your insurance company to confirm the eligibility for out-of-network reimbursement for ADHD coaching services. Some providers may require additional documentation or approval before they will reimburse for these services.
How to Get Reimbursement for ADHD Coaching Services
To ensure you can receive reimbursement for the coaching services you receive at My Cognitive Connection, follow these steps:
-
Contact Your Insurance Company: Before you begin, contact your insurance provider to verify if they offer out-of-network benefits for ADHD coaching. Inquire about the reimbursement process, the types of services covered, and any forms you need to complete. Be sure to ask about the specific coding required for ADHD coaching services, as this can vary by provider.
-
Request a Superbill: After each session, we will provide you with a superbill that contains the necessary details to submit to your insurance company. Be sure to keep these superbills for each session to help you build your claim for reimbursement.
-
Submit the Superbill: Submit the superbill to your insurance company either via mail, email, or their online claims portal. Ensure you follow all their instructions for submitting out-of-network claims. Insurance companies may request additional information, so be sure to keep all receipts and correspondence related to your ADHD coaching.
-
Track Your Claim: After submitting your superbill, follow up with your insurance provider to track the status of your claim. Some providers may require additional documentation, so stay in touch and respond to any requests promptly.
-
Reimbursement: Once your insurance company processes the claim, they will send you a reimbursement check or apply the payment to your account, depending on your plan. You will be responsible for paying the balance of the session fee that your insurance does not cover.
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Another way to pay for ADHD coaching services is by using your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax money for medical and mental health services, including ADHD coaching. If you have an HSA or FSA, you can use these funds to cover part or all of your coaching sessions.
Since ADHD coaching is often considered a behavioral health service, it is typically eligible for payment through HSA/FSA accounts. Keep in mind that you may need to check with your HSA or FSA administrator to confirm that ADHD coaching qualifies for reimbursement.
